So I’ve not posted for a week and a bit, but man alive, life is busy. Just trying to get out the door in the mornings with everything under control and having remembered to put on mascara is an achievement. Also just realising that getting out the door is enough of a pat-on-the-back moment that I can’t get myself down for not blogging 5 days a week (because, really).
But BIG achievement for January was getting our house and roof painted and not losing our minds in the process. After dithering around colours in my last post, and using the Visualiser App exhaustively, we finally settled on Cement Wash by Plascon, although we only used the colour – the actual paint was by Powafix which was an insider tip we got – best paint, excellent climate guard, good overall value and spread on the walls. The. things. you. learn.
So below you can see the swatches for this particular colour, along with some complementary shades… we almost went with Daphne’s Cream but so glad we went for the darker colour – it really turned out super well. Check out my mini collage below for some House Proud Hilda moments. Also note the roof – a lovely dark Anthracite Grey colour that has revitalised those old tiles into modern times. So on point.

The other thing I stumbled across during this painting madness was Plascon’s colour forecast for 2017 and I was as chuffed as punch to find out that Plascon’s colour of the year – In the Mood, was scarily similar to our Cement Wash sheen and so I felt like I was so on trend it was silly.

Thanks for reading these rambling notes this far (It’s Saturday night and the living is easy…) – for some pretty rad home inspiration, check out my favourite blogger’s floor reno over at Live Love DIY – it’s a goodie.
Loves all! x
Nice! Look forward to seeing it up close x
Thanks so much! We are so happy with the colour 🙂
