I am sitting here on a Tuesday evening watching a rerun of The Truman Show, and I realised that our lives sometimes tend to play out like another episode of our favourite show: get up, make sure the kids are fed, changed, cuddled and off to school, go to work, do a grocery shop, sit in traffic, make dinner, have a shower, go to bed… and repeat. It’s so important to ensure we break the mould – even with something small – to ensure we don’t fall into the trap of never expanding our minds or living our dreams.
I last posted in April, April! I think I’ve been so busy and caught up in work, life, getting through the day, that I haven’t always been able to give some energy and time to my passions, like blogging! But tonight is the night 🙂 SO. With two boys under my wing, and already one bedroom transformed into a pretty cool space, I do spend some some time thinking about when Oliver is a little older and whether or not they will share a room, have their own rooms, move from the current room they are in.. and where on earth we’ll be too! I’ve gathered some rad inspiration to transform any little (and not so little) boys’ rooms into awesome spaces they can play in, grow in and enjoy to be in:
SETTING THE SCENE
Whether it’s a mountainous Scandinavian feel or a starry night sky with a magical twist, a clear approach to your paint, wall art and decor is key to making it all come together in a cohesive way.

ADD A FEATURE
From themed decor, like this cute dinosaur print and frame, to this full length magnetic wall covered with letter and number magnets, boys love to be inspired and spend time in their favourite spaces.

GALLERY WALL FOR THE WIN
I love these! While my son’s gallery wall is a collection of his current school art scribbles, there are definitely more stylish ways of creating a cohesive gallery wall: group together a collection of similar images, or create a nook with a number of different prints that work to a theme.

SUPER HEROES & SUPER CARS
Most little boys have an obsession with superheroes and cars at SOME POINT. How cool are these great ideas to display and feature these two obsessions, ensuring they are forefront in your son’s room?

BLACK & WHITE & BOLD
There is something so wonderfully masculine about a black and white space, even with a little boy’s room. Really love these great ideas of the bunkbed, secret nook, teepee and toy stash!
