Two and a half weeks ago I was giving birth to my second little boy, Oliver and today I feel like I’m finally – and in a very overdue manner – giving birth to my blog, Lovely Happy House. So about 8 months ago I finally got my thoughts together and did all the technical bits (registering a domain, setting up hosting and spending an inordinate amount of time browsing WordPress themes) and then I proceeded to procrastinate…I was having a baby and changing jobs at the time after all!
So finally, welcome to Lovely Happy House. My hope is that this blog will serve as a creative outlet for me, and provide inspiration around the things I truly love and enjoy: home décor, DIY and creative fresh ideas that will make your home lovely, exploring mommyhood and all that it brings, and discovering beautiful lifestyle inspiration to make any heart a happy one.

I guess I’m taking a lot of my inspiration from one of my favourite bloggers, Virginia at LiveLoveDIY. She and her husband completely renovated their 1970s condo (with its dark wood panelling, horrible light fittings and furpile carpets) on their own, mostly, with great skill at administering various shades of white paint – yes that is such a thing – on their walls, cupboards and mouldings. She managed to blog her entire journey complete with tutorials, a newborn baby (I can do this!), and a healthy dose of humour.
So I guess while Lovely Happy House is not all about home renovations, it’s kind of about constantly renovating one’s life. My aim is not to strive to achieve the next and the best, but rather by approaching it in the same way I would spiritually. Roman’s 12 vs 1 says “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
Here’s to a Lovely, Happy House and a Lovely, Happy Life 🙂
